Hypnosis

Relieve emotional distress

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of heightened suggestibility in which a person is more open to receiving and acting on suggestions. It is a natural state of mind that we all enter into on a regular basis, such as when we are daydreaming or driving on autopilot.

During hypnosis, the person's attention is focused inward and they are more aware of their thoughts and feelings. They are also more open to suggestions from the hypnotist, which can be used to help them achieve a desired outcome.

Hypnosis has been used for centuries to treat a variety of conditions, including pain, anxiety, depression, and smoking cessation. It is also used in some medical procedures, such as childbirth and dental work.

How does Hypnosis work?
The exact mechanism by which hypnosis works is not fully understood. However, it is thought to involve changes in brain activity, particularly in the areas responsible for attention, memory, and emotion.

When a person is hypnotized, their brain waves slow down and they enter a state of relaxation. This allows them to focus more easily on the hypnotist's suggestions.

The hypnotist uses a variety of techniques to induce hypnosis, such as relaxation exercises, visualization, and repetition of suggestions. Once the person is hypnotized, the hypnotist can then use suggestions to help them achieve their desired outcome.

After hypnosis, you may feel relaxed and refreshed. You may also notice that your symptoms have improved. It is important to follow the instructions of your hypnotist after your session. This may include practicing relaxation techniques or repeating positive affirmations. I love to blend hypnotherapy with other techniques, such as EFT, EMDR, Havening and other mind-body-energy approaches to wellness.
